Budget tips
What drives the price
Cabinets are usually the biggest single cost, followed by countertops and any layout or structural changes. Moving the sink, gas line or a load-bearing wall adds trades, engineering and permits.
Ready-made cabinets with a quartz top often give the best value. Custom cabinetry makes sense when your space has odd dimensions or you want built-ins.
- CabinetsUsually the largest line item
- CountertopsQuartz is the most popular choice
- Layout changesPlumbing, gas and electrical moves
- AppliancesOften bought separately
